Pixie Dust Challenge #71 - Spring Forward/Easter

Oh my gosh, I have just realised that I forgot to post my Pixie Dust challenge card yesterday. It was my first day back at college after the Spring Break and I completely forgot.

Well this week's challenge is "Spring Forward" so we are looking for lovely pastel Spring like colours which are perhaps just perfect for those last minute Easter cards.

I have used "Some Bunny Loves You" from the In the Meadow collection and the papers are by Nitwit designs. The sketch is the current one at Allsorts Challenge.

This will be my last post for a couple of weeks as we are heading off to out little place in Spain first thing tomorrow morning. I would like to say that I am looking forward to some sunshine, but it would appear that there is rain forcast for the next few days and for one the forcast in the UK looks better than Spain -just our luck!!

Have a great Easter.

Easter Egg decorating

I have something a bit different to share with you today and what fun this was.

We are having an Easter Egg decorating competition at work tomorrow. Everyone's names were put into a hat and whichever name you picked out you have to decorate an egg to represent them in some way. I picked out Alithea. Alithea is the lady who organises the Christmas Party and she is known throughout the office as the Christmas Fairy (she is also known as the Kitchen Elf and Mrs Fix-it as she is brilliant with the photocopier!!). So I suppose this was really an easy one to pick as making a fairy was perhaps a lot easier than trying to depict the Boss!!

It really does not look anything like Alithea as she has brown short hair, but the only stipulation was to represent the person - so that is what I have done.

I got the gorgeous googly eyes with the eyelashes in a 99p pack from The Works and the hair was some that I had in a box that was leftover from when I used to paint ceramics many moons ago. A bit of netting, some pipe cleaners, a couple of fairy themed brads and there you go!

Great fun and should be a real giggle tomorrow when all the eggs turn up - unfortunately I will not be in the office as it is my day at College, but hopefully someone will take lots of pictures.

I have used one of my most favourite Sugar Nellie stamps on my card for today Daisy, I had forgotten just how gorgeous she is and I really must use her more often. The celebration that I have chosen is Birthday, the from says Thinking of You and in the inside of the card I have stamped "On Your Birthday". The sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

I hope that you have fun with this challenge.

I have a couple of cards to share with you today using the gorgeous new Birdie Bunting stamp from Squiggle stamps.(It is also available as a digi image). The first one is just perfect for this lovely weather as is has a real summery feel to it.

The second one I have done to celebrate the upcoming Royal Wedding and could be used as an invitation to nay celebration that you may be planning, street party etc.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - #70 - Say it out loud

We have another challenge for you today at Pixie Dust Challenge and this time we are looking for you to have a sentiment on your card somewhere.

I have used Princess Coffee from the new Egg Hunt collection, the sentiment is from the same collectione pretty coloured papers from a Nitwit designs download. The little flowers were also cut out from the same download and I have added little gem stones to the centres. The sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sketch n Stash and I am also entering this card at Papertake Weekly where they are looking for dimension on your cards. I have cut the coffee cup out and used foam squares to mount it onto the card and I have also decoupaged the princess onto the coffee cup to get the desired dimension on the card.

Please do pop on over to the Pixie Dust Challenge blog here to read all about this week's challenge and to also take a peek at the gorgeous creations from the DT this week.

Have fun.

Something a little oriental!

Hi, Karen here with my Monday slot and I hope that you all managed to enjoy some lovely weather over the weekend.

I finally managed to get a bit of time at the weekend to have a play with the gorgeous new images from Orange Bird Studios which are available here and this gorgeous little one is called Japanese Dolly.

The papers that I have used were a freeble pad that came with a magazine some time ago and are by My Minds Eye and I think that they have a real oriental look to them and I think that the colours suit this image perfectly. The sketch that I have followed for this card is the current one at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

Please also remember that our new Monthly challenge is now up and running and you can read all about it here - there is a £30 voucher up for grabs and as they say - you have to be in it to win it!

Have a great week.

One little baby...

I won two stamps in one of the Pixie Cottage challenges a couple of weeks ago and they arrived last week.

Today I have had a bit of time just to have a play around for fun (rather than DT work) and inked up the Baby stamp. I think this is a really cute image and could be used for either a girl or boy. The papers that I have used are a new download from Nitwit Designs. Sentiment is by Stampin Up from a set.

The sketch that I have followed for this card is the one this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches

We are having a beautiful day here today and my daughter and her fiance have just arrived for the weekend so I think that we are now off out to have some lunch.

Have a lovely weekend.

I have chosen to use the brand new My Little Lambs image from the new Egg Hunt collection at Pixie Dust Studio which is available now. Pixie Dust Studio Sneek Peek

I have a little project to share with you today as a sneek peek of the fab new collection of Easter related images that Pixie Dust Studio will be releasing tomorrow in the Egg Hunt collection.

I have used the cute image of Wink in a bed of flowers and rather than making a card I have made a bag-topper for this little bag of Easter goodies. The papers that I have used are from a Nitwits download and the flower is from a bunch of daffodils that I bought last week to use on all my Easter projects.

This little project fits in well with a few challeges:

papertake weekly where the theme is anything goes.
Craft your passion where the theme is also anything goes.
Stamp Something where they are looking for you to use a digi.
Digital Tuesday where the theme is Easter Parade.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - challenge #146 - tons of texture

Tuesday morning and time for another challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar and this time around we are looking for texture on your cards - at least two different types of texture.

I have a colleague at work who has just been in hospital for an operation on her foot and I have made this card for us all to sign and send on to her to try to cheer her up a bit while she is at home for the next 6 weeks not being able to put any pressure on her foot. The image is from the Paper Shelter and I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but the textures that I have used are glittered papers, glossy accents on the eyes and nose and the papers of the flowers, metal centre in the flowers and I have also added a bit of stickles to the brads in the centre of the flowers.

You can check out the challenge here and also take a peek at the gorgeous cards from the DT.

The sketch that I have followed is the current one at The Pixie Cottage and I am also entering this card at Allsorts challenge where the theme is blooming blossoms and at The paper shelter challenge where they are looking for "inspired by" - I am inspired by many people, but this card in particular is inspired by Bev who loves to use layers, flowers and charms and metal embelishments on her cards.

Have fun.

Monsters, Monsters everywhere

Well, where did that weekend go? I have a great week, but boy did it fly past and here we are Monday morning again. Hope all mums in the UK has a good mothers day yesterday. I met up with my daughter in Aberdeen for lunch yesterday and had a fab time.

I have a card and a little gift card to share with you today featuring the Monster Mash trio. I can't believe that this is the first time that I have used these as they are just fab and an absolute dream to colour.

As you can see on the card here I have used all three of the images and coloured them with a mixture of promarkers and copic markers and I have added some googly eyes to them jsut for an added bit of fun and a little bit of stickles for a bit of glam. The little sentiment is also by Squiggle stamps.

I loved this little monster so much that I have done a little gift card to go along with the card.#

Have a great week.
