Pixie Dust Challenge #68 - Fluttering Wings

Our challenge to you this week at Pixie Dust Challenge is - "Fluttering Wings" - create a card/project featuring butterflies, pixies, bugs, etc. Anything with wings!

I have probably pushed the boundaries a bit with this card - but my excuse is that I have decided that these are little birds that are sitting on this guardsman's bearskin and shoes and they must have wings!!

This cute image is Tweet Guardsman from the brand new British Invasion release and isn't he just perfect for getting in the mood for celebrating the upcoming Royal Wedding here in the UK.

The papers that I have used are by doodlebug and the Union Jack was a free digi download. The ribbon was the last little bit that I had left of my gorgeous Kath Kidson stash - must get some more of that as it is just the most wonderful ribbon.

I have followed the sketch this week at Sketch Saturday

I do hope that you get some time to join us this week in the challenge - you can real all about it and see the gorgeous cards from the DT this week Here.

Have fun

Pixie Dust Studio - British Invasion release day

It's all about the dress!

We have the release of the fabulous "British Invasion" release at Pixi Dust Studio today and this collection is in honour of the up coming Royal Wedding in the UK next month - I know that I can't wait to see what Kate (or Catherine as now is known) will wear. We will be in Spain on holiday at the time of the wedding, but I know that there are plans for a street party on the street where we have our apartment so that should be real fun (As long as I get enough time to watch the TV coverage of the wedding!!)

I have chosen to use the Royal Wedding image on my card here, but I have just cut the bride out to use on the card as I have made the card to give to a the daughter of one of our friends on the morning of her big day (I have also made a card for the two of them!). The papers are from a NitWit collections download and I have cut the little flowers with a Martha Stewart punch.

The sketch that I have followed is the one this week at Cute Card Thursday and I am also entering this card at Allsorts challenge where they are looking for cards for a special lady.

Here is a picture of all the images in this fab new collection - all just perfect to fit in with the Royal celebration and everything British.

I will be back tomorrow for the Pixie Dust challenge and another card using a image from this collection.

Thinking of You

I have a card to share with you today which features the Love Birds stamp from the Orange Bird Studio range. The sketch that I have followed is the current one at Sketch Saturday

These colours are not colours that I usually work with, but I am really pleased with the finished card and may now even be a fan of blue and green together.

I have put a "thinking of you" sentiment on this card as then it could be used for almost any occasion, but I think that this card would be especially good for Weddings, Anniversaries etc. Such a great little sentiment I think.

Have a great week and please remember that you still have just over one week to enter our Spring themed challenge at Squiggle Stamps which you can read all about Here.

Have a great week.

The papers that I have used are by Nitwit designs and I have punched the flowers. The sketch that I have followed is the one this week at Sketch Saturday.

I think that the colours on this card are quite Spring like so they fit well with our Monthly challenge that is now underway - but the good news if that you still have a couple off weeks to entry in to be in with the chance of winning a fab voucher to spend in the Squiggle stamps store - you can read all about the challenge Here and the only real rule is that we need to see either a Squiggle Stamps rubber or digi image somewhere on your card or project and for it to fit with our Spring Theme.
