Miss Anya fits 2 challenges

My new Miss Anya stamps from The Greeting Farm arrived earlier this week and I think these have to be my all time favourite stamps - I just love them. I have used two of them on this card which I am entering into 2 challenges this week. The first is a new one that I have come across on The Greeting Farm blog called The Case of the Curious Card and this week there is a lovely card by Kristine to case. Check out the blog to see how to enter. The second challenge is over on Roses on Paper and the challege here is love and frienship and this card I think would be a great card to give to a friend.

As I said earlier I have used one Miss Anya image on the front and another on the inside, papers are Smirk and the sentiments are from a Hampton Art Clear Expressions set, flower by prima and other embelishments from my stash.

Ismaki Challenge - sketch by beatrix

There is a great sketch by Beatrix over at Ismaki challenge this week. There is an option to have stitching on it, but my machine is playing up and I need to have a good look at it to find out what the problem is.
I have used one of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps and the sentiment is from Stampendous. The DP I have had for ages and unfortunately I have cut the pieces with the name of them on it and they are now stuck down on this card so unfortuately cannot tell who they are by.
I had run out of my usual white card for stamping and used a piece of watercolour paper here, the result using my copics is not as good as usual, so I have now managed to get a new supply of my normal white card.

Thanks for looking.

Update on Jury Service - I have just returned home from court, we sat around both in the court and in the outside hallway for a couple of hours before the plea was changed and we were no longer required. At least that is my turn over and I should not be called again for many years hopefully.

Off now to play with my Greeting Farm stamps and my Gorjuss set that has also arrived!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 40 - Shape Shifters

This is my first card as DT member at A Spoonfull of Sugar
Our challenge this week is called "Shape Shifters" and we would love to see all different shapes of cards. This week we welcome Bev as our fabulous Guest Designer this week.

We have a great prize of the two cute stamps below (Easter Jar & Chick in Egg). These have been kindly donated by Helene from Alota Rubber Stamps and they are just soo cute.

I have used Basig Grey Eva papers along with this lovely Magnolia stamp. I cut the card with my circle nestabilities and have added a florish from quickutz, flower by imagininsce and charm and gems from my stash.

I had bit of a lie in this morning as I did not have to get up to catch the train to work as I am on jury service today and am heading off to court in about 10 minutes. Hopefully this will only be for today. Not done this before so it will certainly be an experience, only hope that it is not a case that goes on for days and days.

The postie has just arrived here and delivered my much awaited Greeting Farm new stamps - hopefully I will get some time this evening to have a play with them!

Have a great day.

Friday Sketchers 40

There is another great sketch this week on Friday Sketchers.
I just love these papers and have spent all day trying to make up my mind which image to use with them (this eventually was my third choice) and now that I have made the card I cannot even tell you who they are by as I have cut the piece off with the name on. The stamp is from Alota stamps and the sentiment is stampendous. Ribbon, flower, charm (sorry, due to the lighting you cannot really see the charm - it is a heart shaped on that says handmade with love on it) and gems from my stash.

I can't believe that the weekend is nearly over again and it is back to work tomorrow morning. Will be back again on Tuesday morning with my first card at DT member on A Spoonful of Sugar and also with my DT card for Inspirational Card Sketches.

Precious Moments Engagement Card

One of my workmates has asked me to make an engagement card for her to give to her boyfriend's brother and his new fiance. I had decided to use the same papers and image as I had used on one of the cards that I had done for Inspirational Card sketches and also use the same layout and sketch by Dawn Batty. Unfortunately I found out that I did not have enough of the papers left. I have had to substitute most of the papers, but actually am happier with the inside of this one than I was with the orignial. I have also used different sentiment stamps as these ones are probably better for an engagement card - the original one was a Valentines Card.
Front of card

Inside of card

We were at a joint 21st and 50th birthday party (father and daughter) and half way through the party the boyfriend of the Birthday Girl took the microphone to sing her a song and at the end of it got down on one knee to propose to her. I don't think there was a dry eye in the hall. I have known Louise since she was a little girl and can't get my head around the fact that she now old enough to be getting married. I wish them both all the happiness in the world. Needless to say another card needs to be done this weekend.

Have a great weekend.

Friday Sketchers #39 - Chick-a-Dee

Heidi has provided a wonderful sketch over on Friday Sketchers this week and it is one that I will certainly be using again - thanks Heidi.

This is the first time that I have inked up Chick-a Dee which is one of the new Elizabeth Bell collection at Sugar Nellie and what a dream she was to colour in. The DP is K & CO., flowers are prima, brads are doodlebug sugar-coated, ribbon, lace, charm and pearls are from my stash.
Thanks for looking.

Inspirational card sketches - Challenge 3

We have another great sketch from Dawn over on Inspirational Card Sketches this week. Check out the challenge Here and take a look at the beautiful cards from the DT members.
Sketch #4

For this weeks card I have used another of my treasured Precious Moments images. I get these from a lovely lady called Diane and her contact details are here if you are interested in these images.
I have used Kay & Co 12" Wedding pad and the flowers are imaginisce, gems and ribbon from my stash and the sentiments and the verse inside the card are computer generated.
This card is for our Nephew and his Fiance who are getting married in Barbados at the end of April. (I don't think they know that I make cards, so there is little chance that they will see this posting).

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 4 - One!

This weeks's challenge over on The Sugar Bowl is to make a card using only one piece of DP - impossible I thought!, but I have amazed myself at how it can be done.
I must admit, however, that it probably took longer than any card I make with more than 1 DP as I played around with the layout for ages before finally deciding on what to do.

Front of card

I have used SU cardstock from the pastels range, DP is Kay & Co, flowers are Imaginisce, brads are Doodlebug sugar-coated and the lace and ribbon are from my stash. The image is one of the new Sugar Nellie Elizabeth Bell range which are now available at Funkykits, the small sentiments are from one of the woodware sets I think (the one with all the stamps for making up a flower) and the circle one is also from a clear set, but unfortunately I have taken all the stamps off the sheet and cannot remember who it is by.

Inside of card

I cut off half of the front of the cardbase, decorated the half that was left and also the inside of the card. I then mounted the image onto the DP and then onto the SU card and white card before finally attaching it to the front of the card.

Back of card

There is a fantastic prize up for grabs for this challenge so get yourself over to the Sugar Bowl and have a go - you have to be in it to win it!

Cute Card Thursday - Metallica

I had started this card yesterday for Kimmie's Birthday Challenge, but when I re-read the details I discovered that I had not used a button so laid it aside and started again!

I am snowed in today as the trains are not running between Aberdeen and Inverness so I have had time to do a bit of blog hopping and am now able to use this card as I have now added some metal spacers to the flowers and also a couple of flower charms so that it meets the criteria for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge.
DP is Basic Grey Sultry and the stamps is one of the new Sharing Sherbet ones from Pollycraft - I just love these new ones. Flowers are prima and all other bits and pieces are from my stash. I have used this week's sketch from Friday Sketchers.

I am now off to phone my DH and see whether he fancies taking me out to lunch - fingers crossed.

Hope the weather is not too bad wherever you are.

Sharing Sherbet fits 3 challenges

This cute little Sharing Sherbet - secrets stamp from pollycraft designs is one of the new stamps which were only launched on Monday. I only ordered my two on Monday and they arrived Tuesday - great service - thanks Pollycraft.

I have coloured her in with a combination of promarkers and copics. The theme of the pollycraft challenge this week is love, I have used the sketch on Friday Sketchers which was a nice simple but effective sketch to use and Kimmie's Day 3 challenge of her birthday week challenges is to make a card with pink on it and at least one button.

DP is Basic Grey Urban Prairie, flowers are from Bo Bunny and buttons and rest of embellishments are from my stash.

Thanks for looking.

I have used one of my treasured Precious Moment images that I got as a gift from my good friend Karen and Papercrafts - thanks again Karen. I have used DP from the new Smirk Naughty but Nice range from Trimcraft, cardstock is SU and sentiment is a Heidi Grace corner stamp that I have had for ages but never used, embelishments from my stash.

Basic Grey Challenge #20 and Kimmie's Birthday Challenge

Here is my take on the sketch over at Basic Grey this week.
I have used BG Euphoria for this card. These are not the colours that I would usually pick to work with - hence the reason these were the pages that were left in the pad, but I really like these now that I have finished the card. The stamp is one of my favourites and is from Pink Cat Studios as is the sentiment. Coloured with promarkers, flowers are prima and all embelishments from my stash.

Kimmie is having a birthday celebration week and will have all sorts of challenges and candy throughout the week. Today's challenge is to make a card with purple on it, so I think this card will fit the bill. Pop over to Kimmie's blog to see some really inspirational work and check out her Birthday celebration.

We have no snow here as yet - think we must be about the only part of the country that has none, but we do have some forcast for tonight and tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.
