What will it be - Girl or Boy?

My husband's work colleague and his wife are about to become grandparents for the first time in the next week or so, so I thought that I would get ahead of myself and get a couple of cards ready so that I have it covered when this little baby makes it's arrival. As you can see here, I now have girl one done and will try to get a little boy one done in the next coupld of days. You always need a baby card so whatever one is not used this time around will certainly not go to waste.

I have used another of Anne Bodil's sweet images and have teamed it with some Chick A Dee papers from SEI, a bit of ribbon and a few flowers and there you go.

I have followed the fab sketch by Bev over at Just Cute Bears. I have been meaning to enter one of the fab challenges over there for some time, but time has just not been on my side lately, but this week at long last I have managed.

Have a great weekend. I am off to Aberdeen later today to help my stepson and his wife who are moving house today. They have just sold their 1 bed flat in Aberdeen and are moving to a 3 bedroom house in Laurencekirk - how exciting for them both and also for us as they will now have space to put us up!!

Pixie Dust Studios Challenge - Round and Round

ThePixie Dust Studio challenge for this week is to create a card or project with circles or round things on it. Circles of paper, buttons, round gems etc - anything that is round.

I have chosen to make a card using Forever Love from the Paradise Collection which is available Here. I must be in Wedding mode at the moment as this is the second Wedding card that I have made in less than a week. The papers that I have used are from a K&CO 12x12 pad that I had forgotten that I had. I have also added bit of ribbon and a few crystal gem stones. The sentiment is from a Papermania clear stamps set.

I have carried the same papers through to the inside of the card and again used the same set of stamps and the same image only a bit bigger and cut out with a round nestability.

I have used the current sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp which gave me the circle that I needed to incorporate into my card. I have also used many round crystal gemstones in order to meet the challenge. This card also fits in with the challenge at Charisma Cardz where the challenge is going round in circles.

I hope that you enjoy this challenge.

Belated Birthday Card

I had a major panic on last night as I had forgotten to send a birthday card to a good friend. I was scrambling around last night looking for an image to get a quick card done. I came across this cute freebie image from Meljen designs that I had downloaded a couple of weeks ago - really quick and easy to colour, but looks great I think. The papers are all from a freebie MME pad that came with a magazine some sime ago and I have used a sketch from Nutcrafters a couple of weeks ago. I cut the little flowers with one of my retro flower punches and added a bit of stickles for a bit of bling.

This card is now in the post - don't think I have ever had to get a card done and posted quite so quickly ever!!

Have a great day.

What a great weekend it was

When I was making this card on Saturday it was a glorious summer evening so as you can see I have used bright sunny colours and teamed this new image from Squiggle Stamps with some happy summery papers from Sandy Lion. Unfortunately as I write this post this morning, it is raining here and the temperature is just about half of what it was on Saturday and Sunday. Looks like other parts of the country are still enjoying the lovely weather, so I hope the sun is shining whereever you are.

I have used the sketch from a new challenge blog that I found at the weekend called Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays

Have a great week.

Here we go with the Nutshells Blog Hop to celebrate the launch of the fab new Here comes the Bride set from Nutcrafters which will be available in the store tomorrow.

You should have arrived here from Cathy's blog so if not, pop on back there so that you don't miss any of the beautiful creations along the way.
I have used 3 of the stamps plus one of the sentiment stamps from this fab set on this card. I stamped the cake, the bride and the groom. I cut out the the bride and groom attached them to the cake with 3d clear fixers. The papers that I have used are all by Papermania and the flowers are by Prima.

Here is a close up picture of just the cake with the bride and groom. This cake would look great on a card just on its own and also in the set is a gorgeous stamp with the bride and groom in their car after the wedding (you can see this one on some of the other DT blogs).

The sketch that I have followed for this card is the current one at Cute Card Thursday

Your next stop on the way is Kathy so do give her a visit to see what she has been up to to.

A Couple of Get Well messages and a Birthday Wish

Before we head off to Aberdeen this morning to visit my in-laws I thought I would share with you a few cards that I have made over the past week and also a gorgeous card that my grandaughter Sophie has made for her great grandma.

As I have mentioned earlier, my mother-in-law is in hospital at the moment after falling and breaking her hip and collar bone. The following card is one that I took in to her during the week to try to cheer up her drab and dreary surroundings in the ward. She is still in a trauma ward, so not a very nice place to be, lots of people coming and going and not much private space!.

On this card I have used one of the super cute mice from Digistamp Boutique and some papermania papers.

This next card is one that Sophie made for her great grandma using a Pixie Dust Studios image and some papers and bits and pieces that she got from hobbycraft. Sophie just loves making these cards and has now progressed from just making them when she comes to visit me - she has her own little craft stash at home and her very own collection of promarkers that swhe keeps well hidden away from her twin brothers!!

This last card is one that I made earlier in the week to send to my sister Linsey who is celebrating her Birthday today - Happy Birthday little sis.

I have used the same papers and layout that I used on a Nutshells card earlier in the week (just made the two mats at the same time) as I just adore these papers from MME. The image is a digi from CC Designs.

Well that is all frome me today, now off to enjoy some of this lovely warm weather while it lasts - saw the forecast for her next week and looks like we will fall from 24 degrees this week to nearer 9 degrees next Monday and Tuesday - oh joy!!

Have a lovely day and if you get some time tomorrow, pop back to see what we have going on at the Nutcrafters Blog Hop.

Oscar and his plane meets Sketch Saturday

I had a little bit of time to myself yesterday afternoon and have made a card with the current sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week and also fitsw with the theme at Stampin for the Weekend where they are looking for male cards. On my card I have used Oscar with his plane which you can find Here and of course this cute little image is also available in digi form. The papers are by K&C and the sentiment from TCL creations.

Anyone who knows me will know that little boy cards are quite unusual for me as I normally only do "pastels", but how could anyone resist this little cute face?

Have a great week.
